




Welcome to Moyote: Organizational Background
Most at risk young mothers and teenage girls living with HIV Initiative (MOYOTE) was started in 2011 as a support group of young people who were infected and affected by HIV and other societal issues like prostitution, Gender Based Violence(GBV), drug abuse and poverty. The support group provided an avenue for creating awareness on issues affecting the members, empowerment and advocacy on rights of women and girls and that of their children. In 2014, the support group was registered as a Community Based Organization (CBO) with the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Services in order to effectively address the needs of the members.

To empower and uplift the living standards of the beneficiaries socially and economically.

Our Cause

Advocacy
MOYOTE undertakes advocacy through community awareness creation lobbying of relevant bodies and authorities to address the needs of it's group target .

HIV and Reproductive health
MOYOTE eduacate girls and young women on HIV prevention and sexual reproductive health through community outreaches peer educators and support group meeting.

Social and Economic Empowerment
MOYOTE works to Empower girls and young women socially and economically through capacity building on life skills and entrepreneurship.

Orphan and vulnerable children (OVC)
Orphan and vulnerable children (OVC) MOYOTE works with HIV infected and affected individuals families and communities to provide holistic care and support to Orphan and vulnerable children (OVC).This is by providing support in areas of psychosocial support (PSS), education social protection , shelter, food and nutrition and economic Empowerment.
